For the past month, I’ve been a part of Dessange’s 30 Days of Blonde Campaign to celebrate the European brand’s launch in Canada. I’ve been using using their California Blonde line created specifically for colour-treated blondes, and I’m here to tell you what I think.
I joined Team Blonde Asian in the summertime, and for anyone who has bleached their hair, you would know that it does crazy damage to your locks and that you have to treat your hair well after putting it through that intense process. Before, I never cared much about what I was putting in my hair, but I’ve been learning that the quality of products you use decide whether your hair stays brittle or gets the nourishment it needs. In terms of drug store product, Dessange’s line is one of the best that I’ve tried.
The California Blonde line is a 4-step morning ritual. It comes with a shampoo, conditioner, colour correcting cream and elixir. In order to maintain my hair, I wash it about 2-3 times a week, so that’s how often I used the shampoo and conditioner. I would say it’s your standard colour protection hair product and helps with illuminating your hair. The only complaint I have is that it’s not the best smelling shampoo I’ve ever used, but that’s not what I look for anyways!
My favourite member of the California Blonde family is the colour correcting cream. The weekly wash-out treatment works like magic! Its blue tones have helped to neutralize the brassiness in my hair very well, and the linseed oil in it softens my hair to the point that I don’t even need to use conditioner.
The last step in the process is running a few drops of the Illuminating Elixir through your hair after it’s dry. I paired it with a bit of coconut oil, which adds the moisture you need for your damaged hair. I love how the elixir gave me one last touch of shine before heading out the door!
Thanks Dessange for sending me the product for this post! Although Dessage sponsored this post, all opinions are my own.
