Today, I created a versatile look based on the GET NAKED eyeshadow palette we received from Ana V Beauty. The theme was “Tomboy Chic,” so I picked out my favourite menswear inspired trends for an outfit that moves easily from the workplace to a weekend look.
Fall is in full swing, so I love using warmer tones for my make-up. I liked that the palette had a good balance between matte, neutral colours for everyday use and brighter, shimmery colours for fancier occasions.
You can shop the palette here.
Boxy Shirts: I’m a huge fan of boxy silhouettes, but sometimes, too much structure can cover up your figure. The material of this shirt is a thicker linen, which gives it structure, but also enough flow. I also like the v-neck, because it adds a touch of femininity while staying workplace friendly.
Pinstripe Pants: The pin stripe often alludes to more masculine fashion, but I find it to be very flattering on women. I like that these bottoms have a professional pantsuit vibe, but the relax fit makes it casual enough to wear out on the weekends.
Structured Coats: I’m a huge fan of tailored coats that looked borrowed from the boys. They are simple, neat, and the long lines keep it from being too tomboyish.
Block Heels: The best way to keep yourself from feeling too frumpy in menswear inspired pieces is to tie your outfit together with a pair of heels. I picked a pair with a chunky, low heel, not only because they’re in style, but I like to keep my feet happy!
