There are so many factors that can contribute to your working level. Whether you work or go to school you are bound to have some ‘productive’ days turn into Netflix binge days. We at the Mint To Inspire office have collected 5 tips and words of advice to keep you on your A game. These tips are bound to get you up and ready to take on the world! Let’s break them down for you!
Tip 1: Plan Realistically Before the Week Begins
Our biggest tip is to get a planner and stick to writing in it. Find the system that works for you and plan out your whole week or your next few days REALISTICALLY in it. People sometimes do this ‘thing’ when you want to be an overachiever and schedule 10 million things on one day. That is a list, not a plan! Plan extra time to finish your tasks and give yourself some allowance in case something comes up. You can also try planning backwards from a due date so you can give yourself a heads up before the home run!
Tip 2: When You WORK, WORK!
Here is a big one! When you are supposed to be doing work, actually do your work. There are so many excuses to make when you are supposed to be productive. Try and eliminate your distractions whether it is talkative friends, emails or social media. Alongside with that, when it is time to relax, relax. If you keep pushing your work back it will never get done, and we need our Netflix time! Find what gets you in the zone! It sounds easy but it is definitely the most difficult tip on this list.
Tip 3: Write Things Down
How many times do you say “Oh, I don’t need to write that down, I can just remember it”? Something as simple as writing it in your phone or on a piece of paper can help you organize things and be ten times more productive! Having all the information you need to start a task will make it go by more smoothly and efficiently. The simplicity of this tip can help you stay on track when the world is doing back-flips.
Tip 4: Invest In Self Care
Productivity is important but it is also important to reward yourself after a job well done. We suggest treating yourself every now and again with a little pamper session and make it good! Indulge yourself so that when the next hurdle comes around you have the energy to jump clear over it! Don’t try and burn yourself out!
Tip 5: Digital Detox
In a world where social media is so prevalent, a digital detox will help balance out the good vibes. On weekends or every night before bed, resist the urge to use your electronics. Charge your phone in another room if you have to! The constant unpredictability of social media can be addictive but there are studies predicting better sleeping patterns in people who don’t use their devices before bed! If it is really important, it will still be there in the morning!
